Christmas Cheer

It's the most wonderful time of the year! I love Christmas time.
I love getting a Christmas tree and decorating it all pretty.
I like shopping for friends and family, trying to be creative and get them something they'll really like, then watching their joy when they open it.
I enjoy holiday music, especially the good old Mariah 'Merry Christmas' album.
I love the crisp, cool weather that comes with this time of year, even if it does make me sometimes lose feeling in my fingertips.
I enjoy going to the parks and seeing the festive decor.
I appreciate good times with friends, eating lots of good food and laughing a lot.
Christmas is awesome!!!

On another note, to update what's up with me... I caught the flu bug that most of the Gallers family had (and another manager at work had), and threw up all day on Monday. It was the most horrible day ever, so thank god it was over in 24 hours. I joined Facebook. It wasn't so much the peer pressure as it was the preditating that I needed to do. One of my cast members is on it that I really, really want to make out with, so it gives me a good avenue to stalk him. : ) Had some friends over tonight for our Christmas gathering, which was lots of fun. I made peppermint brownie tarts, which almost put me into a diabetic coma, but they were so delicious! I'm now watching Anchorman on TBS even though I've seen it so many times...this movie is so fantastically ridiculously awesome!

Sometimes The Ends Justify The Mean

I seriously love The Office. I don't know if anyone knows that so I figured I'd just throw it out there. Jim and Pam warm my soul. : )
Just checking in to say I'm outta here! Heading to Tennessee tomorrow for a few days of vacation in the Smoky Mountains. We have rented a cabin, have maps and detailed instructions from my parents who were just there last week, and have many many car snacks (my favorites- Combos, Corn Pops, and strawberry Gushers). We are leaving right after work tomorrow in our rented mini-van and will be in the Gatlinburg area through Tuesday. I'm excited, but frightened of the cold weather I'm about to face. I have lots of sweaters, a peacoat, and ski gloves (the only thing that keeps my fingers from going completely numb in temperatures below 65).
After the drive back to O-town on Tuesday, I will be heading down to good old Cooper City for T-giving, then back up to work on Friday. I am going to be VERY tired of the car!
So Happy Thanksgiving to everyone since I probably won't be posting before then. Here's a little piece of video I give thanks for, taken at the New Kids On The Block concert a few weeks ago...

Still Hangin' Tough...

I am so tired!!! I had a ridiculous weekend.

Friday we went to downtown Orlando to celebrate a friend's birthday, and of course it was Halloween so it was insane. I couldn't believe how packed it was. I am usually not a fan of downtown, but we went a little earlier and left by midnight before the real insanity started. And it was really entertaining to see all the creative costumes. Plus I got to meet our new President and First Lady!

Saturday we had a scavenger hunt at Disney for Bethany's birthday, which was fun. We were on three teams of 3, and had a long list of items to get and pictures to take. It ranged anywhere from a picture with an Asian family to mullet and fanny pack pictures. Most of us are pretty competitive, so we were pretty serious about getting as many points as possible. In the end, my Green Team won. Hooray! Some of our winning photos- us eating a turkey leg, at the Singin' In the Rain umbrella, and with our Dirty Sanchez moustaches!

Saturday night was the annual Halloween party we go to with lots of old friends from when we worked at the Movie Ride. We were the Spice Girls, and definitely were a big hit. You'll notice how hot our Sporty Spice was...
That's me as Posh and my friend Ozzy Osbourne, aka Hatch who throws the party.

Sunday was the New Kids On The Block concert in Tampa, which was fantastic!!! I became 11 years old again and went crazy along with the entire crowd. It was a great show, and we are already trying to find some way to see them again before their tour ends. Tickets in Mexico are only 1400 pesos! ; )

Happy almost Halloween!

I enjoy Halloween. Fun costumes, lots of candy...what's not to like? I feel like this Halloween has been a special expanded edition. I went to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party a few weeks ago, so I got a good dose of fun there (and lots of free candy and cute kids in costume). Then we had our little Halloween Hive, which was super cute. At work, we are having our cast decorate Halloween bags to fill with candy, so I made one to put up also. It's the "Most Scary Halloween Bag Ever," and I cut out pictures of Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson's mug shot, Tom Cruise jumping on a couch, bald Britney Spears with an umbrella, Paris Hilton, and a few others to put on my bag. Pretty scary, huh?
Next weekend is my annual Halloween party that I go to. This year's theme is British, so my friends and I are going as the Spice Girls. The best parts of our group are that as Scary Spice, Bethany gets to go in black face, and that our Sporty Spice is my friend Clint, who will wear his beard and possibly a cut-off shirt to reveal his hairy chest. It will be great, I'm sure. I'll post pics afterward!
Also next weekend, I get to see the New Kids On The Block in Tampa!!! Hooray!!!!

I babysat my nephews last night while my bro and sis-in-law were at a wedding. I don't need to tell you guys this, but babies are exhausting! Blake went to sleep fine, but Colby (4.5 months now) was wide awake and not interested in going to sleep. Had a few bouts of screaming, but I covered all the bases (diaper change, hunger, gas) and finally got him to sleep. Just a few hours of that was plenty. I don't know how you guys do it!!! I guess it all pays off when you get to see them smile and laugh and watch them grow up. This is a recent pic of Colby and Blake all decked out in their Halloween garb...

Mish Mosh

Let's start with Thursday, when The Office returned to television...hurrah!!! It was a great episode filled with very funny moments. I love that Dwight and Angela are having a warehouse affair, that Phyllis knows about it and so is now the head of the Party Planning Committee, that Creed sold Kelly a fake tapeworm, Holly almost confessing that she thought Kevin was retarded, and of course the PB&J proposal! Such a glorious show. I need to find my own Jim Halpert!!!

Friday I went to see Nick Swardson do stand-up at Hard Rock Live. He was hilarious.
For those of you who don't know him, he's got a regular bit part on Reno 911 as Terry, the gay prostitute on roller skates (don't you want to watch the show now if you didn't?!?). He's a friend of Adam Sandler, so ends up in his movies a lot. He was a creepy funny stalker in Blades of Glory and a guy scared of the sun in The Benchwarmers. He talked a bit about Grandma's Boy, which is a stoner movie he was in, which I actually thought was pretty stupid. But otherwise, he was great.

Saturday we went to pay our final respects to Pleasure Island, since it was it's last night of existence.
It was the busiest I have ever seen it, and a few clubs were already at capacity when we got there just after 9pm. We ended up spending our evening in Motion, drinking and dancing the night away. I tried to be as good as possible since I knew I'd see at least a few of my cast members and probably most of my upper management from Downtown Disney wandering around the place. I did an alright job. I didn't get super drunk or do anything to endanger my job, so I would call that a success! I reminisced about all the great times I've had at Pleasure Island and it made me sad that it was going away, but if it's not making money I get it. There are other places to get my groove on, which I will certainly do!

J&K+8

I saw that Angelle mentioned in a post about watching Jon and Kate plus 8, and I was thinking the other day about posting about it. This show is crazy!!! I can't imagine staying sane with twin 6-year olds and SIX 3-year olds. The show is mesmerizing just to see how they function in a normal day.
I saw an old episode last night of when they took a trip to Disney, and it was amazing. Knowing what goes into setting things up for these filmings in the parks, I imagine those kids were super cranky. They did get to walk right on to every ride since they had Disney people with them everywhere, but still. Just potty breaks alone must take up half their day! I imagined our upcoming trip to Disney as being probably a bit like this episode. We may even rival them in number of children in our Hive group! Should be interesting...

So, my life is boring which is why I blog about TV. New shows start next week, although I at least have had 90210 and Gossip Girl for a few weeks now. I don't know if anyone else is as tween-ish as me, but those shows are like crack. Not so much 90210 for me...I don't think the new version is that great so far, but I'm giving it a shot.
Anyway, I am doing fun things besides TV. I went out drinking and dancing downtown last weekend, which was fun except for not getting hit on. : ) I am going to see Nick Swardson at Hard Rock Live next week, then Joel McHale the next week, then Hive the following week...lots of fun coming up!!!

Shred It

I keep reading all of these blogs about you dedicated people competing to lose weight, and I must say that I am impressed. I was on a good schedule of going to the gym 3 days a week, then I got a cold that lingered for about three weeks, which pushed me right out of my gym rhythm. But now I'm feeling better, so it's time to get back into the groove. Thanks for the inspiration!
I bought a workout video a while back called 30 Day Shred, by Jillian Michaels. I don't watch The Biggest Loser, but I guess she's one of the trainers. It's a great video because it's only a 20 minute workout, but really works everything. It uses the circuit method with 3 minutes of strength, 2 minutes of cardio, then 1 minute of abs. Plus, there are three levels, so once you get good at level one, you can move up to level two and it's a whole new challenging workout. I've done it sporadically since I bought it, and finally did level two yesterday, and I am sore today! Anyway, if you are looking for a great quick workout, I highly recommend it.

On another note, I'm so glad that Tropical Storm Fay is gone. Not only did I not get a day off from work, but it was ridiculously busy at DisneyQuest all week. Everyone wanted to do something indoors since the weather was so nasty. What I don't get is how the guests got so pissy about us being busy, as though nobody would think to come inside. Oh well. Thankfully it's getting to a slower time of year! Here's one good thing that came of T.S. Fay - a great gathering at my place. Since my roomies are teachers and they had the day off, we invited another teacher friend Clint over and drank hurricanes and did makeovers. We all looked super glamorous. Check out the results:I know you're jealous of our hot looks. You'll see them all over the runway in Milan this fall I'm sure. Let me know if you need any tips!

Guilty Pleasures

So probably most of what I like could be considered a guilty pleasure, since many people wouldn't admit to liking some of things I do. Here's a few of mine off the top of my head:
1. Teen Pop music...including 'N Sync, Backstreet Boys, Britney, Ashlee Simpson, Avril Lavigne, most American Idols, Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan (!!!), and many random European pop groups.
2. Entenmann's glazed pop 'ems donuts.
3. VH-1 reality shows, the newest being I Love Money.
4. Celebrity gossip.
5. Saying things that are politically incorrect.
6. Kelly videos on You Tube (ohmygod Shoes!...and muffins!)
7. Bridezillas.
8. Gossip Girl.
9. Shopping at H&M (whenever I get the chance).
10. Disney Channel Original movies. (Can't wait for HSM3, in theaters in October!)

In regards to #10, I watched Camp Rock last night on Disney Channel. It was cute, although not as good as the High School Musicals. The lead girl had a good voice, and is apparently the next Disney cash cow. I think she looks a lot like a young Angelle... what do you think?
Feel free to share your guilty pleasures so I don't feel totally lame. : )

Double B'Day Weekends

So my first b'day weekend was pretty good. Downtown was skeevy, as expected. The group we were with was interested in not much more than drinking, so we went to bars with no dancing. The last place we went had a dance floor, but they were playing thumping house music, and I can't really enjoy that. I like music I know and can sing along to. Why can't everywhere play the train?!? Then to top it off, I was driving me and my super-drunk roomie Lauren home, and of course we wanted Happy Meals. (What else do you want after a night out than a delicious hambuger happy meal?) I pull up to the drive thru and order, and suddenly the voice says "No happy meal. Sorry lady. We getting ready for breakfast." So just as an FYI- McDonald's switches to breakfast at 3am, so if you go just before that, you get nothing!
On my actual b'day, I went to the mall and did some good sale shopping. I enjoy shopping alone so I can be on my own schedule. That night we went to dinner on the Boardwalk, then walked into Epcot to see the fireworks. I also rode the newly redesigned Spaceship Earth. It's cute.

Birthday weekend number two was even better. I hadn't been to the new karaoke bar at City Walk yet, so we planned an outing. It was me, Lauren, our friends Janice, Dan, and John, and then the sexy Melbourne trio (Nikki, Keri, and Erica). We had such a good time. It's not just a regular karaoke experience...it has a huge stage with a host, live band, and backup singers. It is pretty intimidating, even to a regular karaoke-er (I guess that's how you'd say it?). It's fun just to see the people get on stage who think they're awesome. Some of them turn out to be pretty good, and others not so much. After some schmoozing with the DJ by Erica, I finally got called to come up and sing around 1am (I put my song in at 9pm!). I sang (surprise!) "Just A Girl." It was fun, but crazy...you can't see much with all the lights on the stage, and I couldn't hear myself at all, so I may have sucked big time. Of course, nobody told me that, so in my head I did pretty good! After City Walk, Lauren and I did get our Happy Meals this time, so I was very content.
Sunday I went over to my friend Cindy's for a soccer party to watch Germany play Spain in the Euro Finals. Unfortunately, being German it didn't end so well. But it was still fun. Then on Monday I saw WALL-e, which was so cute. I agree with Mike that any fan of Pixar movies will love this. I found myself tearing up a few times during the movie, which is retarded because it's an animated movie about a robot, but that Pixar knows how to do it to me!
Random note: For those of you who haven't heard, Disney announced on Friday that they are closing all the clubs at Pleasure Island in September. They're moving foward with a new "vision" for Downtown Disney, so they'll be putting in more shops and restaurants. No specifics yet, but I will keep you updated if I hear anything. So say goodbye to PI!

What's It Gonna Be?

Happy Birthday Weekend to me (and Erica)! I have to work tomorrow, but am going out dancing tomorrow night downtown. I'm not a huge fan of downtown Orlando (kinda skeevy), but we are meeting a few friends that are downtown regulars, so I'm sure we'll have fun. Not sure what I'm doing on my birthday proper, but probably going to Epcot in the afternoon and having dinner somewhere in the vicinity, then watching fireworks. It's pretty fun to pretend to have a fireworks display put on just for your birthday celebration.

I don't have any videos of kids doing cute things, so I will share one of my favorite videos that I found on funnyordie.com, a fabulous site. This song is not safe for work or young ears! But it's f'ing awesome. Enjoy!

Dads Rule!

Happy Father's Day to all you dads. Hopefully your kids are giving you 'props' today for being 'off the chain'. You deserve numerous props.
Here's a few reasons that my Dad deserves props:
1. He knows how to fix a lot of things, like various household items and my car.
2. He helped put a down payment on Stella, my current car.
3. He always knows the answers.
4. He puts up with my sometimes insane mom.
5. He helped support me through college, always sneaking me gas money on my trips home.
6. When I would call home crying about something, he could always calm me down, using his phrase "take it slow and easy."
7. He taught me how to appreciate and shoot a gun!
8. He sacrifices his time to help run his late father's business.
9. He uses his handy-man skills to help out his mother and other family members when they need it.
10. He helped raise me, and look how great I turned out!!!
Side note: I was SO mad when my dad shaved off his moustache. I didn't talk to him for a few days. I guess I couldn't handle the change, but now I am very glad he made it!

So Happy Father's Day everyone! And congrats to Nikki and Jason for their new addition. Elena is beautiful, and I love all the pics from the hospital (good job Erica!). Halle will be a wonderful big sister!

Nephew #2!

I have a brand new nephew!
Colby Patrick Fuchs was born on Wednesday, June 4th at 9:06am. He was 8 pounds, 2 ounces and 21 inches long. Both he and his mommy are doing great. Colby looks so much like his big brother Blake did when he was born. I took a few pics of him on my phone, but am not smart enough to figure out how to get them onto my computer, so all I have so far is this family photo right after Colby was born, but will have more pics soon!

On an unrelated note, did anyone see Keith Murray on Best Week Ever??!? We Are Scientists did a great little bit during the 'Sizzler' portion of the show, got a quick shot of their album, and they even delivered a few lines. They came on and I yelled "I know him!!!" at the TV and then recalled how I thought Keith was super hot in high school. He has a wacky hair cut now, but I would still allow him to be my boyfriend. : )

Sex And Th........

So I'd been looking forward to the Sex And The City Movie ever since the idea of it was even mentioned. I loved the show so much and still watch repeats on TV even though I have all the seasons on DVD. We planned to go see the movie on Friday, opening night. We lined up outside our theater 45 minutes before the movie so we'd get good seats. The movie started, the theater cheered, and I was so happy. And then...disaster. About 40 minutes in, the film broke. The lights came up, and the women got angry. The poor theater manager came in and said it would be 10-15 minutes to fix it. 30 minutes later, the movie started again, but a little farther than where we'd left off. Again, the women were beside themselves, yelling "Rewind! Rewind!" About ten minutes go by, and the movie goes out again. Repeat crazed women. Finally, after the third time the movie went out, the manager told the theater that was it, they weren't going to be able to fix it. As we exited, we heard various women yelling at the manager... "We had to get a babysitter! How will you compensate us for that?" The lines at Guest Services were very long and full of emotional, aggravated, and dejected SATC lovers. We were pretty disappointed, but figured being nice to the man at Guest Services would increase our chances of getting more compensation. We ended up getting a refund plus two free movie tickets each, so it worked out.

I went Saturday night to try again, and was able to see the movie all the way through. (Plus I went to pee in the middle and didn't miss anything since I'd already seen that part! Bonus!) Of course I loved it. I had to hold back a few sobs because I'm a sucker for a good love story. It was a very well made movie and had great funny moments (involving poop, which always gets a thumbs up from me) and plenty of drama. Plenty of crazy outfits, and a stunning, flowing wedding gown I would love to have. This pic doesn't do it justice, but it was so pretty and probably only works on someone built like SJP, but I still love it! So, I give the movie two thumbs up and highly recommend it to all ladies and gay men, plus any boyfriend/husband that gets dragged along.

I'm watching the MTV Awards right now and Johnny Depp just won his second award. He is so dreamy! I can't help but think that I could be there with him right now, cheering him on. If I hadn't moved in 5th grade, I would have gone to high school with him, and we would have dated, fell in love, and lived happily ever after. His life without me must feel so empty!
Final note: I love Rainn Wilson.

Playing Catch Up

I haven't posted in two weeks so I guess I'll catch up...
Went on a date with a guy I met on eharmony last week and have plans to go out again tomorrow. It went well, we had dinner and sat and talked for like 5 hours. He's nice and funny, so we will see how it goes. I'm not getting too excited about anything since the last guy I met turned out to be such a douche. I got too enthralled too fast last time, so I won't do that again.
My parents were visiting my brother last weekend, so I went over to hang out, even though I didn't even know about the visit until the day before. I don't factor into visits since I don't have a kid I guess. It was nice to see them, and I talked to my dad a lot about new cars. I finish paying for my car in October, so of course I am already jonesing for a new car. I think it will be between a Pontiac G6 and a Toyota Scion coupe. We will see how long I can hold out! In other news, my new nephew is scheduled to be born on June 4th, so we're getting close!
Work is going fine...hard to believe I've been at DisneyQuest for six months. I am working on our ten year anniversary celebration, which is on June 19th. It's good because it brings me back to those days of planning events. I miss doing that, so I'm keeping my eyes out on the Job postings. I know that I don't want to be a Guest Service Manager forever, so I have to keep looking!
Okay, gotta go make myself a PB&J with all this sandwich talk everyone's having!

Kiss Her...Kiss Her Good

Let me start by saying Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful moms I know. It's great to be able to keep up with your families by reading your blogs. I've learned so much from you all, I feel like you are all preparing me for the eventual day that I become a mom. You're all excellent role models because you are all AMAZING moms. Hope you all got mad props today. : )
I spent my Mother's Day taking a trip to the gym and then to see Iron Man. I wasn't really pumped to see the movie since I knew nothing of the Iron Man character, but the reviews have all been so positive, I gave it a shot. It turned out to be really good! Robert Downey Jr was great, as was Gwenyth Paltrow. Overall a very entertaining movie that I would recommend to any of you that get a chance to see it. I have also recently seen Baby Mama and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which are both quite good as well. I'm a fan of both Tina Fey and Amy Poehler...30 Rock is hysterical, and Amy was awesome in Blades of Glory. And Forgetting Sarah Marshall was actually more of a cute story than I expected. I pretty much will see anything that Judd Apatow creates, since he appeals to the 13-year old boy side of me. Plus Kristen Bell is in it, and she is Veronica Mars! One of the greatest shows ever to be cancelled!
Speaking of great shows, I'm sad that The Office finale is already this week. At least it's an hour episode. Will Jim really pop the question? I've loved his fake-outs the last few episodes. This past week's episode wasn't my favorite of the season, but I enjoyed Andy's nasty blistered hands and Michael's ridiculous speech at the job fair. And of course, when Jim and Pam had their major makeout and Michael had to creep it out by staring at them and stating "Kiss her...kiss her good." So awkward! I love it!

Sickness and Turkey (totally unrelated)

Being sick is lame. It started with a nasty, hacking cough..sounded like I had a smoking addiction. That went on for about 10 days before it got worse two days ago. That's when my throat and glands started swelling up and I was super fatigued. I finally opted to go to the doctor yesterday to find out I have bronchitis. Fabulous. But I feel so much better since yesterdays drugs began. They gave me the wonderful Z-pack to get rid of the infection, and it is already working wonders. I may actually be able to stay awake longer than a few hours today. Yay for drugs!

So with all of Mike's lists, I felt inspired to make one of my own. I thought, what do I know a lot about and can make a good list of? Then I knew...

5 Best Turkey Sandwiches-

1. Publix deli made w/Boar's Head - they are fresh, delicious, and just how you want it
2. my own creation at home - Boar's Head ovengold turkey, sharp cheddar cheese, rye bread
3. Earl of Sandwich - All American with no ranch, no cranberries
4. Quizno's - mmm, toasty
5. Subway - their bread makes it good, I enjoy Honey Oat

So there it is...off the top of my head. I have had many, many turkey sandwiches in my life, so I'm sure I'm forgetting some. I just love turkey!!!

Another Baby That's Not Mine...

Sorry it's taken me a few days to get this info up...I know you were all on the edge of your seats when I was on Baby Watch this weekend! I spent Saturday night at the hospital, hoping my friend Aida would have her baby. One nurse promised she'd have it by midnight, so we were getting excited. Then midnight came and went without much change. Three other women on the floor had gone into labor, so the staff was busy and didn't want to push Aida along any faster.
Got a call from Aida's husband Mike around 7am that they were finally going to start pushing. After three hours of pushing, they decided to do a C-section. I can imagine how pissed Aida was, since she'd stated earlier in the night that she wanted them to just cut that thing out already! So Natalie Victoria was finally born on Sunday, April 20 around 1pm. She weighed in at 8 lbs and 20 inches long. Here's a pic I took on Monday before she started hysterically crying...
She's a beautiful baby and mommy's doing great. They took her home yesterday and are getting used to their new life without sleep. Aida says that Natalie is a nocturnal baby, so they are having fun with that. Thanks to all of you for checking in to see how things went. I wish I could have stuck around Melbourne for the beach...I love all the pics I've seen. I have so many favorites from Erica's site that I can't even pick...Halle's 'rockstar' picture, Mike and his girls, the pic of Ella in her white hoodie (looks like a pic that comes in the store-bought frames!) and especially the big pic of all the kids together on the beach- love it!!! It was great to see you all and I look forward to a more extended visit in October for Hive!

Mariah Mania!

I hope you're all prepared for Mariah Mania, because it's sweeping the nation. She was on Oprah yesterday looking quite lovely, and she will be the mentor on American Idol tonight and perform tomorrow night on the results show. I'm also jamming out to the new album, which came out today. It's great, but what did you expect me to say about it?
On another note, I am happy that shows are back on TV...I really do enjoy television. That doesn't make me lame that I like TV, it's just entertaining! Two to watch if you haven't: One, Eli Stone on ABC - great show! And many references to George Michael music, which is fun. And two, My Big Redneck Wedding on CMT. It's so trashy, but awesome to see what these people do at their weddings.
That's about it for me...my life is not really that exciting. I'm looking forward to visiting my peeps in Melbourne on Saturday!!!

The Big Apple!

Ahh, another vacation over and it's back to reality for me. Boo. This one went quick, but we did a lot in a short amount of time. This was my second time to NYC, so I am certainly no expert, but I recognized a lot of places so I had a pretty good sense of direction. We arrived Sunday morning and jumped right into it. We had booked one of those hop on/off bus tours to tour the city. I recommend it to anyone who goes for the first time- you see a lot and learn about everything you pass. And when you get off at one of the stops, there will be another bus in 15 minutes so you don't get stuck somewhere too long. We experienced Little Italy, Chinatown, and Ground Zero, which was tough for me. There's nothing really there, just the memorial being built behind fences, but we went into the church right in front of it, where many of the rescuers rested between shifts during the recovery effort. There were memorials and pictures inside the church, along with lots of tissues. I really can't handle it emotionally, the whole thing is so heartbreaking.

Onto happier things...our hotel was a block south of Central Park and about 5 blocks north of Times Square, so we were in a great location. We took a night tour of the city, which was beautiful. I got this cool pic from Brooklyn of the city skyline...it was tough since it was so dark, but I think it came out pretty good. (I mean, I'm no Erica...)
We did a Movie/TV Site Tour, which was really interesting. We went all around the city to see where famous movies and TV shows had been filmed, and then on the bus they showed us clips from the movies so we could put it all together. We took a pic on the steps of the Cosby's house, saw the Friends apartment building, and visited the rice pudding shop featured in a scene from the movie Hitch (yes, random...but it was a fun place that featured this funny sign...) Another sign in the shop read: "Eat as much as you want, you're already fat." It was awesome. Too bad I can't stand rice pudding.

We ate our fanciest meal at Tao, a trendy hot spot where we were hoping to spot celebrities. Unfortunately I found no celebs, but Mr. Adam Robbins did join us, so that was good enough for me. We did a lot of walking in the city, through Central Park, visited the Museum of Natural History, shopped at H&M (my favorite store!!!), walked some more, and ate at Serendipity and had delicious frozen hot chocolate.
Our last day was my favorite. It started out with a taping of the Maury show, which was so trashy but great. The topic was 'Out of Control Teens', so we got to do a lot of booing and groaning. Maury also had Harvey from Celebrity Fit Club on to yell at the kids, so that was pretty sweet too. From trash to class, we went to the theater and saw Mary Poppins, which I LOVED. I have now seen 3 Disney Broadway musicals, and this was definitely my favorite. It was so magical! So entertaining and well made- all the actors were amazing, all the songs were great, and I teared up quite a few times. I mean, freakin' Bert tap dances on the ceiling! That's magic!!!
Oh, and our hotel was a half a block away from the Carnegie Deli, so we sang about it every time we walked by, and eventually ate there. Here's a pic of the biggest turkey sandwich I have EVER gotten in my life (and there are two halves)...
Shout out to the jews: Guess who eats together at the Carnegie Deli? Bowser from ShaNaNa and Arthur Fonzerelli! (and me, a quarter-jew!)
A great vacation...I could never live in that city, though. It is way too fast-paced, I think I'd be stressed and in a hurry all the time. But I can't wait to go back and see more Broadway shows!

Nephew Pics

I don't have kids of my own to show off, so I will post some cute pics of my nephew Blake. He is 16 months old now, and will have a new little brother at the end of May/beginning of June!

Blake loves to smoosh his face against the sliding glass door. It is apparently hilarious!

Having fun at home...
and with me...

SNL anyone?

I don't know if anyone still watches Saturday Night Live...I know that it is not on my regular rotation of shows to watch anymore. This cast just doesn't do much for me. If it's a host I'm interested in, maybe. I think Justin Timberlake should host every week. He is frickin' funny! Just as I was thinking that nobody watches SNL anymore, it was on the cover of my new Entertainment Weekly that it's still the country's go-to source for political satire. Hmm. Well, okay. I prefer Jon Stewart, but whatever. If it means that you saw this weekend's SNL featuring the fabulous Mariah then it's all good! Mariah took over since Janet Jackson got the flu and canceled her appearance. MC was awesome and it got me all fired up for the new album, which is out April 15 (they keep changing the date and it's driving me crazy). So, uh...I'm excited for the album. I don't know if you can tell.
Never did hear back from Doug, so I decided to send him a text message since I was still pissed about him being such a jerk. My text said: 'Hope you become a man in the future and can actually tell a girl you're not interested instead of just ignoring her. Good luck.' I felt better after sending it, and he replied shortly after with: 'I know. Sorry.' Boys are so worthless!!!
Went out downtown last night, which was fun...we went to a club that was having ladies night, so I drank free until midnight, and they were playing all 80's and 90's music, mixed in with some current hits. It was awesome. We hit the McDonald's drive thru at 2am, and I had the best french fries ever. It's nice to have some fun nights out on the town with the ladies!

Oh Well...

When I like a guy and I think it may develop into something, I'm usually pretty reluctant to tell anyone about it. I always feel like if I tell people, that may curse it and then I'm stuck answering questions about what happened. Well, here we go again.
After our great Valentine's night, I texted with Doug once that weekend (he was away). And...that's it. Haven't heard from him since. Awesome. Eventually, last weekend I sent him a message on myspace that said 'haven't heard from you in a while so I'm guessing that means you're not interested in hanging out with me, which is fine. I just wish you would have let me know so I didn't have to wonder why you didn't call.' He has been on myspace since but has not even read the message. WTF!?! Be a man, get some balls and at least tell me you're not into me. It just aggravates me so much that he couldn't have the decency to tell me, and instead just stops calling. Why can't I just find a nice man that wants to call me?

On a happier note, I'm going on vacation soon! Planning a trip to New York City from March 30 - April 2. I've only been once so I'm excited to go back and see some of the things I missed, and of course take in a Broadway show or two. We've booked tickets to Mary Poppins (or 'Poppin Beans' as Leah would say), which was my first choice. I didn't know that we can get tickets through the Disney company- they reserve tickets for employees for each performance, so we will be sitting close, most likely in the first ten rows! We are also figuring out what kind of tours we'd like to do. We will probably do the NBC Tour and there's also a film/tv tour that shows you lots of famous spots used in movies and tv shows. I will also be spending some time in Central Park...maybe I will even re-enact the song and dance scene from Enchanted. If so, I will get some footage, don't you worry!

I Best Not Catch This Flick On YouTube...

What a lovely week I have had...
Started on Tuesday with the release of Mariah's new single to radio, so of course I had found it online within a few hours and listened to it repeatedly. It's called "Touch My Body" and it's my new jam, peeps! It's a pretty sexy song and includes the line 'if there's a camera up in here I best not catch this flick on YouTube'. You tell 'em Mariah, it's private time in your bedroom! Anyway, I kinda love Mariah and can't wait to hear more from the new album, which doesn't come out until April 15. Boo!

Work was fun this week, as it always is when I work with the right people. My partner in crime at work, Dan, has the same sense of humor as me so we have a blast together. We laugh at the most ridiculous things and act like total children, but it's awesome. We had fun filling our cast member's Valentine's bags with candy, since they all sucked up to get more candy from me.

V-Day started off with getting to see the adorable Belle and Corgan when I got the fam into Animal Kingdom. I seriously haven't seen Belle in person since she was like 6 months old I think. She's frickin' adorable, and I love that she is a big 'Hot Dog' fan- that song is catchy!
After work I rushed home to get prettied up since I had plans with a boy. Yay! It's been many, many Valentine's Days since that has happened. Doug picked me up and we went to the Osceola County Fair (he hadn't been to a fair for years). It was so much fun!!! He got to experience a pig race and try kettle corn for the first time. Some people are so deprived! We rode a few rides, including his pick, the Haunted Mansion, which was the lamest/most awesome fair ride ever. H was all about fair games, so we played a few. I busted a balloon and won a shirt of my choice- I went with the super classy "Hump and Dump" shirt (I let Doug keep it!). We left the fair and went to Friday's to hang out and have a few drinks. He came up to the apartment and hung out for a while before heading home around 1am. I had such a great night!

Ended up going back to the fair on Sunday with a few friends, which was also fun. We usually go every year to the fair, since it's got pig racing, terribly unhealthy foods, and scary unsafe rides. It's also a great place to people watch. Only the classiest people go to the county fair! Next for me is the Strawberry Festival, which I'm going to on the 29th! Yessssss!

You Know I'm Bad, I'm Bad...

So my new friend Douglas (the previously mentioned man from my last post) invited me and my friends to a concert on Thursday night downtown. It was a band called Who's Bad--a Michael Jackson cover band. It was SO much fun!!! The band was great and sounded awesome. The lead singer even dressed up like MJ with his white shirt, black hat, and finger bandages. He also had some pretty sweet moves. My roomie Lauren is a big MJ fan, so she was going crazy. We danced and sang along and had a really fun night. The bonus was that Douglas and all his friends were there, so I got to hang out with him again. (We went out just the two of us a week and half ago and had a great time!) He and his friends are crazy, so we all got along great. Hopefully I will get to hang with him more soon because he is super fun and we get along really well! I'm trying not to be a crazy girl about it, but of course I am. Why are we like this? Any time there is a potential man in the picture, we immediately jump on the crazy train. It's silly.

Anyway, not much else to report. Just working and trying to calm the crazy! Wish me luck!

Hello 2008!

Happy New Year! I am hoping for an exciting and fun '08. Some updates...

I got statused at DisneyQuest as a manager, so I don't have to worry about where I'm going back to or what my next job will be. I'm happy to be there, because I like my team a lot. Some of the cast are on the verge of retardation, but they make things entertaining. It's not a forever job, but it's a good place to be until I figure out my next step.

My friends and I are already planning our next trip- this time a spring trip to New York City. I've only been there once, and didn't get to see everything I wanted to. I didn't see the Statue of Liberty or walk through Central Park, so I've got some things to accomplish! I've started looking at dates and Broadway tickets- I really want to see Mary Poppins. It's fun to have a trip to plan!

I don't want to jinx it, but I am working on getting myself a man. I joined eHarmony a few months ago to see what's out there. I'm not big on going out and meeting guys, so I thought it would be a good thing to try. I've been talking to a guy for a few weeks and we've gotten to the 'open communication' stage, and so I sent him my number and we chatted last night. Hopefully we will go out soon- he's gonna call me in a few days. Cross your fingers!
